Manuka

Tested and Certified for MGO Standard

What is MGO?

Manuka honey is extracted and comes from the nectar of the Manuka flower (Leptospermum scoparium), which is native to only New Zealand. The nectar collected by the bees is what makes the Manuka honey special to provide you with compelling wellness properties.

The Methylglyoxal (MGO) is a dihydroxyacetone (DHA) compound found in Manuka Honey. The Manuka Honey is tested and graded into MGO levels using MGO grading system due to not every Manuka honey is developed equally. The MGO number marked on the product label will tell you how much MGO is in your Manuka honey jar.

What is the difference between everyday honey and Duavata Manuka Honey?

There are main two bioactive components that are present in everyday honey: flavonoids and phenolic acids. However, over 100 bioactive compounds are currently active in the Manuka Honey; the most important ones in the Manuka honey are 3-Phenyllactic acid and gallic acid.

Many research and studies are completed on a large scale by the New Zealand Government to ensure Manuka honey contains appropriate bioactive compounds. Duavata Manuka Honey contains a large volume of phenolic compounds; meaning it can provide the right antioxidants. Therefore, Manuka honey has the best significant quality of phenolic content, and different types of antioxidants compared to other honey from around the world.

Antioxidant Found in Manuka Honey Prevents Free Radicals

Our bodies have atoms called free radicals that can damage cells, leading to different types of diseases and rapid aging. You might be wondering how free radicals grow inside our bodies?

Free Radicals are naturally growing inside our bodies. However, your current life choices also play a role in terms of determining how rapid free radicals grow in your body. Life choices include exposing yourself to toxic chemicals like air pollution, alcohol, pesticides, smoking, oily foods etc. These life choices are related to diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Manuka Honey contains strong types of antioxidants. Consuming antioxidants will decrease or avoid the problems of free radicals. Antioxidants send out electrons inside the free radicals to diminish free radical’s responsiveness. What makes antioxidants distinct is that they send out electrons without being affected by free radical itself. Therefore, every manuka honey has antioxidants to keep your body healthy from free radical.
